do it yourself hunting is better because it is cheaper and there are better memories.
this year was my second year of big game hunting.
i go with my dad and his friends.. about 10+ people.

Great Information. I like the idea of making memories. Some of the best hunting memories I have are from DIY elk hunts. Keep up the good work!

oh my god your right that is so fucking funny….

even if that is sarcasm, I find it funny because it’s kinda ironic how on the Glade commercial they mention the word “glad” and here they mention the word “glade” unintentionally when they meant to say glad. UNDERSTAND!?!?!? it’s just a coincidence! OK???

you have to much time on your hands if your memorizing glad commercials….UNDERSTAND???OK???

*sniff* I’M SORRY!!! OK!!!

Good info, and I agree, It’s about the time you have, not a trophy or a kill. That’s the gravy.

Answers a lot of questions. We have similar lotteries up here in Canada for moose.

Anything you want to know, I am an open book, I dont know how much you have your heart set on Montana but if you think you are somewhat flexable you may want to put in for a non-resident point for elk in Wyoming, you have untill Sept 1st and if you go that way next year you will get drawn because you have 1 point from this year. Odds in Montana are pretty slim without an outfitter.

we acually do awesome elk hunting in montana every year . last year we got 2 cows . and my son shot a 6×5 bull his first year with my older son . point is that you have to know where the elk are and you have to be at the right spot at the right time..

Hell ya do it your self is the only way to go
November 25th, 2009 at 2:36 am
oh yah hell of a nice bull
November 25th, 2009 at 2:49 am
300 mag all the way, compareing both with 180 grain bullets-velocity, 300 mag-@100 yrds is 2764, 30-06 2539, 500 yards 300-2058, 30-06 1867, drop 500 yrds 300 mag-39.5 inches, 30-06 -47.7
Hands down 300 mag but the 30-06 would be ok under 300 yards. I dont think the Arkensas tags are easy to get,

ehh i do like that 300 its only $546 for a bull elk hunt in colorado*wink*
